About the event
Like many professions, public relations is undergoing a whirlwind of changes in a more technologically driven and interconnected world. These changes have been particularly stark in the past five years. The advent of AI technology that can generate text has led a few observers to say that traditional PR is dead. Such claims might be alarmist and hyperbolic, but they contain a measure of truth, especially regarding the phrase “traditional PR.” How is higher education adapting to this changing environment? How are they equipping students for thriving careers in public relations, advertising, and journalism? And what can we as experienced PR professionals do to connect with young professionals to help them succeed?
Join us for an informative discussion about the future of PR education, with special guest Joe Stabb, Ph.D., APR, ACUE, an assistant professor of practice in the Tombras School of Advertising and Public Relations, College of Communication and Information at the University of Tennessee.
